Works with what you already use

Ask it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor: Ternly is an MCP server, with an API for your own code.

Why Ternly

ASO, SEO and AI answers aren't three problems. They're one.

App Store search, Google and the AIs all read the same two pages: your store listing and the web around your app. So stop fixing them with three tools. Ternly checks both in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI Overviews, and tells you what to change on each.

One answer, built from both pagesAll three, lined up into one

One fix

Add “offline” to your App Store subtitle.

Every AI answer for “offline hiking maps” uses that word, and your listing doesn’t. One edit gets you found in App Store search, on Google and in AI answers.

01Your listing

Get your app recommended by name

See which AIs cite your App Store and Google Play listings and where you rank in the store. After every AI run you get the listing changes that move you up.

02Your website

Make your site the source AI quotes

70+ AI checks on every page show what to change. You also see which AI crawlers visit and which cited pages leave you out.

Two pages decide whether AI recommends you. Ternly covers both.

No app? Everything runs on your website and the pages that mention you.

AI answers

AI makes the shortlist now. Are you on it?

Ternly asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot the questions people ask before they sign up or download, with web search on, and records whether they name you, where, who they name instead, and which pages they cite.

  • Share of answers that name you, by assistant and by question
  • The rivals named instead, and the pages each answer cites
  • Google's AI Overview citations, tracked with your rankings

How it works

See who AI names. Then change it.

A chart of who AI names is only half the job. Ternly also checks the site and store listing behind the answers, and tells you what to fix first.

    Add your site or app

Add your website, and your App Store and Google Play listings if you have an app. Ternly reads them, finds your rivals, and helps you pick the questions people ask before they sign up or download.

    • Google Play

    Ask every AI

Ternly asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot those questions with web search on. You see who names you, in what place, who they name instead, and which pages they trust.

    Change the answer

Then fix what's in the way: pages AI crawlers can't read, pages the AIs cite that don't mention you yet, and words your listing is missing. Your site does the leading, whether the last step is a sign-up or a download.

    • AI crawler access
    • Content briefs
    • Listing checks
    • Alerts

Your app listing

Got an app? Point every page at it.

When people ask AI for an app, the answer often cites the store listing itself, and the listing is where the download happens. Ternly puts your App Store and Google Play listings beside your search data, so your site, your listing and the questions people ask all use the same words.

  • Use the words people search in your name, subtitle and description, store by store
  • See when a rival app passes you, and what they changed in their listing
  • Know where downloads really come from: store search, browse, your site or other apps
  • Send site visitors straight into your app, with Universal Links, App Links and the Smart App Banner checked

Your website

The site AIs read before they recommend you.

Before ChatGPT names an app, it reads the web: your site, your guides, and the reviews and threads that compare you with rivals. Ternly shows what AI can and can't read on your site, which AIs come to read it, and which pages get a rival named instead of you.

Site audit

Find the pages AI can't read.

70+ checks on every page, led by the ones AI depends on: crawlers blocked in robots.txt, pages that need JavaScript to read, llms.txt and structured data.

Questions

Good to know.

Can't I just ask ChatGPT myself?

You can, once. Ternly asks five assistants with web search on, keeps every answer, and shows who was named, in what place and from which pages, so you can see what moves when you change something.

AI answers change every time. Is one check worth anything?

On its own, not much. That's why Ternly tracks the share of answers that name you, across assistants and questions, and how it moves over time.

Can I change what AI says?

You can change what it finds. With web search on, the assistants read pages as they answer, so your site and the pages they cite shape the answer. What a model learned in training only changes with new versions.

Which AI assistants does Ternly check?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot on every plan, and Claude on Studio and Agency, each with web search on, plus Google's AI Overviews in rank tracking. The free scan when you sign up asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. For every question, Ternly records whether you're named, in what place, who is named instead, which sources are cited, and in what tone.

Why does my website matter so much?

Because that's where the AIs learn about you. They read the web: your homepage, your docs and guides, your comparison pages, and the pages that review or link to you. Ternly checks that AI crawlers can read your site and that its pages carry structured data and llms.txt. If you have an app, it also checks that your site sends visitors straight to your App Store and Google Play listings.

Do I have to connect my accounts?

No. Ternly crawls your site and reads your public store listings on its own. Connect Search Console and GA4 (read-only) when you want search traffic joined in, and App Store Connect and Google Play Console if you have apps.

What does Ternly do with my Google data?

Only what you connect it for. Signing in with Google gives Ternly your email address. Connecting Google gives it read-only access to the Search Console and Google Analytics data of the sites you pick, which it uses to show you your own search and traffic reports and alerts. It never uses that data for ads, never sells it and never trains AI models on it, and it follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect at any time and have it deleted. The details are in the privacy policy.

Will the crawler slow my site down?

No. It crawls at three requests a second by default (you can change it), follows robots.txt, and always comes from one fixed IP address you can allow-list.

Where does the backlink data come from?

From Common Crawl's public web graph, plus the linking pages themselves for anchor text and nofollow. Common Crawl samples the web, so you'll see fewer links than Ahrefs or Semrush show, but every one is real.

Can my team use it?

Yes, with as many people as you like on any paid plan; Free is for one person. Your sites and apps live in a workspace. Invite people as admins, members or viewers; viewers can look but not change anything.

What happens when I reach a limit?

An audit stops at the pages you have left. Other runs don't start until the 1st of the month, or until you upgrade. On a paid plan you can also add AI answers with a top-up: 750 more a month for $19, or 3,000 for $59.

See if AI recommends you. It's free.

AI is already naming someone in your category. Sign in with Google, add your site or app, and see if it's you.
